Medical Arts Pharmacy bills most commercial plans, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid. That sentence is on the homepage for a reason. A large share of the calls to (479) 443-3411 are not about the drug itself. They are about a rejected claim, a new card, or a deductible that reset in January.
What the pharmacy needs from you
Bring the physical card, not a photo of an old card. Part D plans change bin, pcn, and group numbers more often than people expect. If you have both a Medicare card and a separate Part D card, bring both. Medicaid patients should bring the current month ID. If a spouse or caregiver picks up, they still need the member ID that the claim will use.
Common reasons a claim rejects
- The plan year rolled over and the pharmacy still has last year's bin number.
- The prescriber is out of network for that plan, or the drug needs a prior authorization.
- The days supply on the prescription does not match what the plan will pay.
- A refill is too soon according to the plan, even if the bottle at home is empty because of a dose change.
Questions patients actually ask
Do you take my plan?
Call with the card in front of you. The staff can check Fayetteville or Elkins against the plan ID. "Most insurance" is the public statement. Individual plans still have to be tested at the register.
Can you bill a vaccine to Part D?
Often yes, depending on the product and the plan. Walk-in immunization details are in flu shots and walk-in immunizations. Ask before the shot if you need a cash quote as a backup.
What if I need the medicine today and the claim is stuck?
The pharmacist can sometimes fill a short supply while the clinic sends a prior authorization. That is a clinical and billing decision, not an automatic override. Do not wait until the last tablet to start that process.
Durable medical equipment and insurance
Wheelchairs, walkers, and other equipment may bill under different rules than pills. Bring the clinic order. The Services page and the notes on wheelchair rental or purchase explain the floor models. Coverage for a rental is not the same as coverage for a purchase.
If you use the online refill form, a billing problem will still show up as a phone call from the pharmacy. Keep a current number on the profile. For map hours and fax numbers, use the Fayetteville or Elkins contact pages.
